I’m Joep Grutters, a designer and illustrator from the Netherlands specializing in immersive, story-driven experiences for theme parks, festivals, and seasonal events.

 

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Design at AKV St. Joost, where I focused on illustration and visual storytelling. Thanks to this, I own a strong foundation in both the creative and communicative aspects of design.

I’ve had the privilege of working as a designer at the Leisure Expert Group for 7 years, where I developed concepts and illustrations for a variety of projects in the leisure industry. My role involved everything from early sketches to detailed elevations, ensuring that each project aligned with the client's wishes and identity, while at the same time delivering visually compelling and authentic environments together with a team of talented people.

My knowledge in concept development, art direction, and scenography allows me to craft experiences that resonate on both an emotional and practical level. I’ve provided creative direction, and collaborated across disciplines to bring complex projects to life, while maintaining aesthetic integrity and addressing practical challenges.
